A GetGo convenience store and gas station in Pine has earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design silver certification.
The store that opened in February 2009 on Towne Center Drive is the first LEED-certified convenience store for O'Hara-based Giant Eagle Inc., which operates the GetGo locations.
It's also the first of its kind in Western Pennsylvania, the company said Tuesday, and one of the first nationwide. Giant Eagle has three LEED-certified supermarkets, including the Market District store in Shadyside.
